You Don’t Know Who You’re Sitting Next To
This isn’t about being seen. It’s about no longer hiding.

When They Finally Realize
Yesterday was a get together with Curiosity Island Castaways, I was in a breakout room with two powerful humans when we were given a deceptively simple prompt:
“Share a time when you were misunderstood or judged.”
I waited for a specific moment to rise — some big event, some story that stood out.
But instead, what came were fragments… little vignettes.
Scene after scene of being overlooked.
Not hated. Not dismissed. Just… unseen.
Moments in my career, my childhood, even recent conversations — where people didn’t fully get who they were sitting next to.
They smiled. They engaged.
But they didn’t see me.
Not in the way that mattered.
And I realized — this isn’t just something that happened to me.
It’s something I’ve carried.
A pattern.
A program.
A belief that said:
It’s safer to stay a little behind the curtain because being fully seen might cost too much.
But as I shared that truth out loud with Yas and Susanne — without apology, without editing — something cracked open.
I heard myself say:
You really don’t know who you’re sitting next to
And it wasn’t ego.
It was experience.
It was earned.
It was a knowing I’ve hidden under humility for too long.
That moment led me to something unexpected…
Today, I turned that truth into something new.
Because the truth is… they just didn’t know.
I spent a lot of time reflecting on it…
Then I did something…
I wrote a song 🎶
Not to prove anything — but to declare what’s finally true in my bones.
It’s not just a song.
It’s a release.
And I want you to hear it.
Because maybe…
you’ve been the one people didn’t fully see, too.

They Didn’t Know
I walk in quiet, don’t need to shout
But I’ve been in rooms where I’m figured out
Too late, too fast, after I’ve gone
They say, “I had no idea who I was sitting on”
I’m not some mystery to solve
I’m just a mirror you dissolve
I ain’t here to steal your show
I’m the fire you didn’t know
(Chorus)
They didn’t know who I was
Didn’t feel the weight of love I brought
Didn’t see the sparks I lit
Till the room caught flame and I’d already split
I don’t need to prove, I just show
Let 'em catch up —
They didn’t know
I’ve been the quiet storm outside the frame
Never asked for credit, never played the game
But I’ve held the kind of peace that shakes the floor
And I’ve opened hearts just by holding the door
I’ve been the one they call too late
After their noise begins to break
But I don’t chase or beg or boast
I just keep burning close to the coast
(Chorus)
They didn’t know who I was
Didn’t feel the pulse or the sacred buzz
Didn’t hear the echo in my tone
Till their truth cracked open and they stood alone
I don’t need a throne to glow
Let 'em catch up —
They didn’t know
(Bridge)
I am not here for applause
I’m the whisper behind the cause
I’m the weight in every word
The silence you finally heard
(Final Chorus)
They didn’t know — but I did
Carried my light since I was a kid
Now I speak from the fire in my chest
And I only say yes to what feels blessed
Let the world learn slow
They didn’t know
But now they know.
The Power You Already Hold
Most people don’t realize who they’re sitting next to — until you’ve already left the room.
And that’s not arrogance. That’s energetic mismatch.
When your signal is tuned to truth, to clarity, to embodiment… but the people around you are still wired for performance, posturing, or pleasing — they won’t hear you. Not right away.
And that’s okay.
Because here’s the deeper truth:
You weren’t behind. You were ahead of the frequency they were tuned to.
Let that reframe settle.
You’re not too much. You’re not too quiet. You’re not “hard to place.”
You’re simply early.
You speak resonance — not reaction.
You carry depth — not distortion.
And that kind of signal? It takes a minute to register.
So if you’ve ever felt like people don’t “get you” until later — trust that timing.
Stay in your frequency.
Let the ripple do its work.
Are You Still Waiting?
This week, ask yourself:
Where am I still waiting to be picked?
Where am I over-explaining instead of embodying?
What part of me is trying to “convince” when I’m already the calibration?
Let this land:
Recognition isn’t something you chase.
It rises when you live in alignment.
You don’t need more clarity.
You need more courage to keep showing up as the version of you they haven’t met yet — but will never forget once they do.
✏️ Journal Prompt:
“Where in my life am I still holding back until they ‘get it’?”
“What shifts when I fully own who I am… without needing applause?”
✅ Action Step:
Pick one area — your content, your business, your relationships — and stop trying to be “understood.”
Start being undeniable.
Resonance Is the Real Magnet
One of my clients recently made a bold pivot in their business. For too long, she had shaped her message in ways she thought the world could digest.
Safe. Polished. Wrapped in language that made her easier to categorize.
But in a recent SPARK Session, we peeled it all back. Stripped away the filters. What came through was something wild, clear, and unmistakably her.
She spoke it — not from a script, but straight from her soul.
No slides. No brand deck. Just her voice, her essence, her truth.
Two hours later, she shared this raw new positioning with one person. No preface. No build-up.
And when that person heard it?
They didn’t need to process it. They felt it.
Something clicked deep in their bones.
Without hesitation, they said:
“YES! I’M IN!!!”
Not because it was persuasive. But because it was pure.
No pitch. No performance. Just resonance.
Because when you stop shaping your truth to be understood…
You become undeniable.
She wasn’t chasing resonance anymore.
She had become it.
And what follows? Clients who matched her depth. Fees that honored her value. Alignment without effort.
All because she stopped explaining — and started embodying.
An Invitation to Be Felt
So let me ask you:
Where are you holding your brilliance hostage, waiting for someone to “get it”?
What if the real breakthrough is to stop waiting — and start living as the version of you that no longer needs external validation?
They Didn’t Know.
But you do.
So stop waiting.
And start letting them feel it.
And if you want a space where your depth is not only seen but activated — then let’s talk.
You don’t need another strategy.
You need to stand in the signal you’re already broadcasting.
Let them feel what you’re becoming.
Because we’re not just building a business.
We’re building a resonance.
Light and Presence,
