They're In. Are You?
The experience is happening. Will you follow the story that’s ending — or the one that’s just beginning?
SPARK Insights by Coach Reg — Issue #0037
Yesterday, I invited you to say one bold thing:
“Bob, I want to change my story.”
Nearly a dozen of you already have.
That means this experience is happening — because enough people raised their hand and said, “I’m ready.”
Now, I want to extend another sincere invitation — before the doors quietly close.
If you’ve been sitting with this…
If the idea of rewriting your story hit something deep…
If you’ve read every word but still haven’t replied…
This is your moment.
You don’t have to be ready.
You just have to be willing.
“I don’t want to change my story.”
One reply stood out and deserves sharing.
C.M. wrote:
“Bob, I don’t want to change my story. I want to figure out what it’s about.”
He went on to describe the challenge of being many things to many people — student, brother, brand-bearer, antagonist, comma-lover — all in one unfolding life.
And he’s absolutely right. No one really “changes” their story. That’s just the language we use to cross the threshold.
The truth? It’s a plot twist. A reveal. A new chapter.
You are not a character in someone else’s narrative — you are the author.
So if “change my story” doesn’t fit you today, feel free to reply with:
“Bob, I want to author a plot twist.”
Both replies count. Both signal something sacred: that you’re willing to claim creative power over your own narrative.
What Happens When You Say “Yes”?
There are three powerful steps to changing your story — and all three matter.
1. Declare it.
Say the words: I want to change my story.
That’s not small. It’s everything.
Most people never get this far — but those who do feel the ground shift beneath them.
2. Invest.
This won’t be free.
There will be a money investment — because money is energy.
And a time investment — because showing up with intention takes space, not scraps.
3. Show Up.
And this? This may be the hardest part.
It’s easy to raise your hand.
It’s easy to buy the book, or the course.
But showing up fully — heart open, distractions off — that’s where it gets real.
And it’s also where the story begins to change for good.
What I Had to Face… Even Yesterday
The day this newsletter went out, I had two calls — and both dropped me right back into the very story I was writing about.
First, I spoke to someone doing exactly what I want to be doing in the world.
And instantly, the old story showed up:
“Who am I to build this? He already did it.”
“I’m too late. Not qualified. Not enough.”
I felt jealousy. Insecurity. Imposter syndrome.
But when I got quiet and listened more closely… I heard something else:
He was in awe of me.
Of what I’ve built. Of the way I combine entrepreneurship, coaching, athletics, and golf into something he’d never seen before.
He wants to figure out how to work with me.
While I was admiring his world, he was admiring mine.
Then came another call — with a sports psychologist working with elite athletes, speaking on major campuses, booked solid… and 20 years younger than me.
And again, the old narrative:
“I’m behind. I should be farther along.”
But I caught it. I paused. I reframed.
Because here’s the truth:
They weren’t looking at me and seeing lack.
They were seeing depth. Presence. Lived wisdom.
And that only came because I noticed the story and chose to change it.
This is the real shift: awareness, not perfection.
I didn’t banish imposter syndrome.
I noticed it, named it, and redirected it.
The Real Shift Isn't Perfection — It's Awareness
This is what I want for you.
To become aware enough to notice it in real-time — and choose something different.
That’s what this upcoming experience is all about.
We’ll meet. We’ll go deep.
We’ll shift things that may have been locked in place for years.
We’re not going to “fix” your story.
We’re not going to erase your story.
We’re also not slapping affirmations over fear.
We’re meeting it head-on.
With honesty.
With power.
And with a simple way of rewriting what no longer serves you.
It starts with a reply.
This is your chance to join the group.
If You’re In, Say It
Just reply:
“Bob, I want to change my story.”
or
“Bob, I want to author a plot twist.”
That’s your move.
Do it now. Don’t think. Don’t justify.
Just act from the part of you that knows you’re ready to step into something new.
I’ll send dates and details soon.
And if you’ve already replied — you’re on the list.
Looking forward to what’s next.
In your corner,
– Coach Reg
