The Offer I Almost Abandoned (and Why I’m Reclaiming It Now)

How a hard truth from my peer group helped me come home to what already works

SPARK Insights by Coach Reg — Issue #0023

I almost deleted the whole thing.

SPARK Tee Time — my private golf-and-conversation experience — was sitting on my site, on my calendar, in my heart… but not moving.

I had run the offer to my list last year while I was in Florida. Three emails.
No replies.
And the story I told myself?
“It was a nice idea, but nobody wants it.”

So I shelved it.

I told myself maybe I needed a more structured program. A group. A funnel.
Maybe I needed to “fit in” to what coaches are supposed to sell.

Then I sat down with my peer group — the kind of people who love me enough to tell the truth.
We started unpacking all the offers I’d created over the past year…

Spark Sessions.
Vision Days.
Golf experiences.
Group experiments.
Speaking gigs.
Creative workshops.
Advising roles.
…and more.

Twelve fields. That’s how many different directions I’d been planting seeds.

And then someone said this:

“You already have evidence. Why aren’t you doubling down on what actually works?”

That one hit.

Because the truth is: SPARK Tee Time is the most honest, aligned, and easeful offer I’ve ever created.
It’s also the one that generated ongoing clients in under six hours — no slides, no pitch, just a real conversation walking the fairway.

So why did I try to throw it away?

Because one newsletter flopped.
Because no one hit “buy now” from an email.
Because part of me still believed it had to look more like what others are doing.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

  • The things that “fit around” your genius don’t always look like offers. They look like your life.

  • Just because it’s easeful doesn’t mean it’s not powerful.

  • Repetition creates clarity — for you and your audience. It just takes guts to say the same aligned thing again and again until it lands.

So I brought it back to my peer group. I read the page. I told the story.

“No notes,” they said. “It’s perfect.”

Not because it’s clever.
But because it’s true.

SPARK Tee Time is open again.

Not because I’m trying to sell you on something.

But because not offering it would be out of alignment with what I teach — and how I live.

If you’re wrestling with a question and want clarity that sticks…
If you want the kind of day where truth sneaks up on you around hole 13…
If you’re tired of trying to fit in, and finally ready to build something that fits around you…

We’ll talk about what matters.
We’ll walk the course.
We’ll let the answer find you.

Coach Reg.

P.S. On page 76 of the SPARKS, there’s a story about someone I’d coached for years — a brilliant mind, a quiet powerhouse.
But unless you knew where to look, you’d miss it.
Because they kept themselves hidden in plain sight.
They built systems. Supported others. Made everyone else shine.

But when it came time to claim their own space?
They hesitated.

Until one day, they said:
“What if I just stepped forward? What if I owned this brilliance and built around it instead of hiding behind it?”

We talked. Not in a strategy session.
Not with slides.
Just an open, grounded moment where the truth came through.

That one insight flipped everything.
They stopped waiting for permission.
They stopped designing offers around what looked “impressive” and started naming the thing they did best — the thing they loved.
The thing that already worked.

That story isn’t just theirs.
It’s mine too.

SPARK Tee Time is me finally saying:
This is where I’m most powerful. This is where people break through.
And I don’t need to dress it up to prove it.

So if there’s something in you that’s been hiding, waiting, or whispering — I’ve got space for that.
