Break the Pattern: 5 Hidden Traps That Keep Entrepreneurs Stuck

How to Finally Move Forward with Clarity and Confidence

SPARK Insights by Coach Reg - Issue #0017

Last week, I had the honor of speaking to Perry Marshall’s audience. The session was called Break the Pattern – and it wasn’t your typical slide-deck webinar. I went live, unscripted, with nothing but my iPad, a stylus, and the intention to speak directly to the energetic root of what keeps brilliant entrepreneurs feeling stuck.

What follows in this issue is drawn directly from that session, so if you were there, this will deepen the integration. And if you weren’t, this is your backstage pass.

This isn’t about downloading more strategies. It’s about finally seeing and stepping beyond the invisible patterns that are quietly capping your growth.

Let’s get into it.

🔒 Trap 1: The Hustle Habit – “More Info” Loop

“If I just learn one more thing, THEN I’ll take action.”

You know this one. You read, watch, highlight, save. But when it comes time to move? You freeze, stall, or pivot.

This trap is sneaky because it feels productive. But it’s actually a self-protective loop. The ego masks it as “preparation,” but what’s really going on is hesitation, fear, and often… perfectionism.

You don’t need more input. You need integration.

🧠 Here’s the shift:

Knowledge lives in the conscious mind. Behavior lives in the subconscious.

Until you embody what you know, until it shifts your state, not just your notes, you’ll keep spinning in the same place.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I already know that I’m not yet living?

  • What’s the one idea I need to stop researching… and start becoming?

🔒 Trap 2: Shame of Unused Potential

“I should be further along by now…”

This one is personal. It’s heavy. And it’s so common.

You’re not stuck because you’re lazy. You’re stuck because shame has lowered your energetic ceiling.

And shame doesn’t show up screaming. It shows up as subtle hesitation. As self-doubt that erodes your confidence just enough to keep you quiet.

You may be achieving. You may even be admired. But inside, something says, “You’re still behind.”

Here’s the truth:

Shame isn’t a motivator. It’s an anchor.

We cannot create from guilt. And we can’t evolve while secretly punishing ourselves for our pace.

Ask yourself:

  • What success have I not fully allowed myself to own?

  • Who would I become if I forgave my past timeline?

🔒 Trap 3: Identity Conflict

“Who am I to do this?”

Every time you up-level, this trap will try to whisper its way back into your mind.

You make the bold plan. You write the big goal. You start to move. But then… you find yourself shrinking, stalling, or subtly sabotaging.

Why? Because the version of you that made the plan is not the version you’re still living as.

Your nervous system is still wired for survival, struggle, or smaller stakes. But the vision? It’s massive.

That’s an identity conflict.

I drew a simple map in the session:

  • Left side: Who I’ve Been

  • Right side: Who I’m Becoming

  • Middle: The discomfort gap

To cross that middle space, you don’t need better systems. You need a new self-concept.

Ask yourself:

  • What part of me must die in order for my vision to live?

  • What identity would I need to claim now… to move with alignment?

🔒 Trap 4: The Trauma of Trying

“I’ve tried before… and it didn’t work.”

Here’s what almost nobody talks about: business trauma is real.

You ran the launch. You booked the call. You built the thing. And it flopped.

Or maybe it didn’t. Maybe it just didn’t meet your hopes. Either way, something inside you braced and never unbraced.

Now every time you get close to the edge of risk, your body remembers. It defends. It delays. It pulls back.

What’s running the show isn’t logic. It’s the memory of pain.

And here’s what that creates:

Defense mechanisms disguised as discernment.

So you play smaller. You stop before you start. You don’t feel “ready.”

But it’s not about readiness. It’s about residue.

Ask yourself:

  • What past attempt am I still carrying?

  • Am I ready to let that story go?

🔒 Trap 5: Lone Wolf Syndrome

“I just need to hustle harder.”

This trap is seductive because it flatters your ego.

You’re the hero. The one who handles it. The one who keeps going. No excuses, no delays, no reliance on others.

But eventually… your soul gets tired. Your body feels it. Your results plateau.

Because what got you here, your grit, can’t get you to what’s next. That’s going to take support.

You weren’t meant to do this alone. And the longer you try, the more you delay your own expansion.

One visual I drew in the session: a gear system with just one gear, you. Everything depends on you. Now contrast that with an ecosystem where trust, talent, and team multiply momentum.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I still clinging to because it feels safer to suffer than to be supported?

  • Where could I ask for help today?

So… Which Trap Are You In?

If any part of this spoke to you, then this isn’t just a newsletter, it’s a mirror.

This is your chance to break a pattern and shift the trajectory of your next 90 days.

And if you want to go deeper...

First, you can watch my full presentation right here, along with sessions from other experts who brought their A-game to the conversation.

Second, i’ll be serving as the Master of Connections and Ceremony at Perry Marshall’s Equity 2.0 Seminar on April 20 to 22.

I’ll also be leading two powerful sessions diving even deeper into the traps, transformations, and energetic upgrades we touched on here.

But that’s not all. I’ll be:

  • Creating a Connection Hub that helps you meet the people you’re meant to meet.

  • Supporting Energetic Calibration so you can regulate your internal state and show up fully resourced.

  • Guiding Real-Time Identity Work to help you lock in the future version of yourself.

  • Offering Clarity Coaching On the Fly when internal friction tries to creep in.

We’re not just talking strategy. We’re shifting identity and embodiment in real time.

This is where patterns break. This is where clarity becomes inevitable. This is where aligned energy meets strategic momentum.

Are you going? Hit reply and let me know.

And if you want more details on the event, I’ve got you. Just say the word.

We’re breaking patterns this season. Together.

Light and Love,
